Less than 24 hours after they had extinguished a blaze at The Green Dolphin Pub, Roanoke Island volunteer firefighters Thursday returned to the scene and quickly extinguished another fire.
Smoldering embers on a chair were believed to be the cause of Thursday morning's fire.
Kitchen grease was believed to be the cause of Wednesday's fire at the restaurant and bar, Dare County Fire Marshal Doug Remaley said Thursday. Fire caused heavy damage to the kitchen and to the roof. Heavy smoke damage was evident throughout the restaurant.
No one was hurt in either fire. KEYWORDS: FIRE
