ISABELLE L. COPELAND

Isabelle Stella Lowe Copeland, 102, died Aug. 7, 1997, in Nansemond Pointe Healthcare Center.

A homemaker, she was a native of Southampton County, Va., and the widow of John James Copeland. She was a member of Baptist Tabernacle Church and was the daughter of the late James Lowe and Sarah Bradshaw Lowe. She was predeceased by a daughter, Clara Alberger, and a son, James Edward Copeland.

Survivors include six daughters, Mildred Hedgepeth of Zuni, Sarah Summerlin, Lessie McClenny, Vivian Winborne, Evelyn Jones and Jeanette Carr, all of Suffolk; son, John F. ``Mickey'' Copeland of Suffolk; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by Pastor B.L. Scofield. Friends may join the family in Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, on Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
