STEPHEN L. COMPTON

Stephen L. ``Steve'' Compton, 48, of the 1300 block of Northvale Drive died Aug. 7, 1997, in an auto accident.

A self-employed HVAC mechanic, he worked 25 years and was a native of Manhattan, N.Y. and a Jehovah's Witness. He was a minister of the Goodnews.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Compton; two daughters, Aisha Compton and Nezette Davis; a son, Jamel Compton; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Griffin, Ms. Avis Compton; two grandchildren, Trevaughn and Jordan; nieces, Ikiiaa Compton and Shawanna Ricks, Danee Talley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mrs. Pearl Compton and Mr. Danny Compton; sister, Charlene Compton

A memorial service was Saturday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2601-B Salem Road, Virginia Beach, by Brother Edward Wallace. The body was cremated. P.G. Thomasson Funeral Home was in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
