KENNETH W. MILLS

Kenneth Wayne Mills, ``Kenny,'' 43, of the 700 block of Monmouth Lane died at home Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997.

Mr. Mills was a member of the Community United Methodist Church; past master, Berkley Lodge No. 167 A.F.&A.M.; member, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies; member, Khedive Temple (Clown Unit); PABG of Bethel 42 IOJD; VHSL wrestling office; and was proudly associated with the J&W Racing Tires Inc.

He was a native of Virginia Beach and a 1971 graduate of Kempsville High School, where he will be remembered as an outstanding student-athlete. He then served in the U.S. Navy and moved into his current employment with the U.S. Civil Service at Fort Monroe, TRADOC.

Mr. Mills is survived by his wife of 23 years, Shirleen Rae Mills; three daughters, Angelica Rae Mills, ``Angel,'' Kendra Jane Mills; and Rachael Karlyn Mills, all of Virginia Beach; parents, Union Robert Mills Jr. and Thelma ``Polly'' Mills of Grandy, N.C.; sister, Saundra L. Beddingfield of Norfolk; a brother, Union Robert Mills III of Yorktown; and several nieces and nephews; and many loving family members and friends.

Mr. Mills will lie in state at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Friends are invited to visit with the family at their home, 733 Monmouth Lane, Sunday. A funeral will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Keith Almond will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. Donations may be made to the Khedive Shrine Temple for Crippled Children. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
