Amelio Joseph Cologgi, 76, of the 300 block of London Blvd., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Cologgi was born in New York and retired from Combat System-Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 37 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha L. Cologgi; a daughter, Marsha Thompson of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; three sons, Joseph R. Cologgi of Pensacola, Fla., Gary M. Cologgi of Currituck Co., N.C., Kevin J. Cologgi of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; a sister, Betty Buttacavoli of Holbrook, N.Y.; three brothers, Robert Cologgi, Gino Cologgi, both of Seneca Falls, N.Y., Richard Cologgi of Emerson, N.J.; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph S. Slowik. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
