Rebecca Anne Gundersen, 14, of the 200 block of Whitehall Road, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997.

She was a native of Onslow County, N.C., and a rising sophomore at Camden High School. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the TYM Group and she played varsity girls basketball and varsity girls softball. She was the daughter of David Michael and Kathleen Sheridan Gundersen.

Besides her parents, Rebecca is survived by two sisters, Erin Gundersen and Susan Gundersen; maternal grandmother, Constance Sheridan of Coram, N.Y., and many aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Alfred and Regina Gundersen and maternal grandfather, William Sheridan.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. John Gillespie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church Total Youth Ministry. Twiford's Northside Chapel, Elizabeth City, is in charge.
