DOROTHY G. MAZYCK

Dorothy Gourdine Mazyck, formerly of Manly St., died Aug. 14, 1997, in Beverly Manor of Portsmouth.

She was a native of Berkley County, S.C., and the widow of Leroy Mazyck. She was an insurance agent for Southern Aid Life Insurance Co. for 12 years. She was a member of Fellowship United Church of Christ, Chesapeake, and a former member of the Senior Choir. She was a member of Bon Ton Bridge Club; former instructor at the Effingham St. Y.M.C.A.; active member of the Portsmouth Senior Citizens Center, High St., Portsmouth.

Survivors include her two sisters, Marion Jefferson of Pineville, S.C., and Mazie Gourdine of Portsmouth; two brothers, William Gourdine of Freehold, N.J., and McFall C. Gourdine of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by a son.

A funeral will be conducted Tuesday at noon in Fellowship United Church of Christ, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Winston A. Waugh. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday for the funeral procession to the church. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
