MYRTLE G. HELLARD

Myrtle G. Hellard, 87, passed away Aug. 15, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mrs. Hellard was born April 10, 1910, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late John S. and Nettie Booe Griffith. She had retired from Erwin Mills in Cooleemee, N.C., and was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. For the past 28 years, she had lived in Virginia with her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tobe F. Hellard; a son, James Aaron Hellard; and an infant daughter.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Myrtis and Richard Watts of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Eric P. Carter and K. Christine Hellard, both of Virginia Beach; two great-grandchildren, Kandice and Christopher; and six step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and the body will then be sent to Eaton Funeral Home, Mocksville, N.C. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Methodist Church, Mocksville. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
