AXEL R. THOMPSON

Axel Rene Thompson, 37, died Aug. 15, 1997.

He was a native of Arlington, Va., and had been a Peninsula resident for the past eight years. Mr. Thompson was a 1983 graduate of ODU and was an employee of Parsons-Brinckerhoff Civil Engineer Consulting Firm, Norfolk. He was treasurer for ECHR and of the Lutheran faith.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Jean Cordovana Thompson; son, Axel Tyler Thompson of the home; his mother, Renee Colin Thompson of Newport News; his father, A. Elliott Thompson of Fairfax, Va.; two sisters, Marie-Claude Ashley of Owings Mills, Md., and Elisa Thompson of Fairfax; brother, Matthew Thompson of Fairfax; and his father- and mother-in-law, Gary and Margaret Cordovana of Norfolk.

A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Amory Funeral Home Chapel, Grafton, by the Rev. Darla Kincaid. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service in the funeral home.
