ESSIE M. PEARSON

Essie Mae Pearson, 79, of the 7100 block of Gregory Drive died Aug. 13, 1997, in Lake Taylor Hospital.

A native of Rose Hill, N.C., she was the widow of Roscoe Pearson and a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Norfolk, and the No. 2 Choir, senior citizens club and emergency club.

Survivors include a sister, Inez Gorham; brother-in-law, Walter Gorham, both of Norfolk; nieces, Alma Land of Baltimore; special caretaker, Juanita Frances Bazemore and Joe L. Bazemore of Chesapeake and Dorothy Simmons of Norfolk; nephews, Raymond Wiggins of New York and Walter Gorham Jr. of Norfolk; and a host of nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews; and special friends, Mary Lee and Mrs. Gertrude Burton.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Byron Collins. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be in state at 10 a.m. Hale Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
