Ella L. ``Mother'' Jones, 79, formerly of the 400 block of Gygax Ave., died Aug. 16, 1997, in Maryview Medical Center.

A native of Portsmouth, she was retired as a supervisor from General Electric Corporation. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the United Usher Board and the Helping Hand Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Pauline F. Little and her husband, Bill of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including a very special cousin, Lillian Webb, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ebenezer Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben A. Beamer Sr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin at noon today in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The family will be at 1615 Prentis Ave., the home of Faye and Louis Wescott, and will assemble there for the procession to the church. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
