Anna H. Whitehurst, 92, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 1997.
A native of Norfolk, she had lived in Williamsburg for more than 30 years, most recently at Chambrel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence Whitehurst.
Mrs. Whitehurst was an active member of the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Women's Circle for the years she resided in Williamsburg. Other affiliations include The Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Tidewater Genealogical Society. She was an accomplished family historian and genealogist.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Charles Horton of East Moline, Ill.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Grace Whitehurst of Williamsburg, the Rev. Dr. Howard and Madeline Whitehurst of Abbeville, S.C.; a sister, Lahoma Gregory of Roseland, Va.; two brothers, William H. Holleman of Mentor, Ohio, Hauser L. Holleman of Holmes, Pa.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Williamsburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Clay Macaulay and the Rev. Marilyn Shinaman officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends after the service Wednesday in the Memorial Room of the church. Memorial donations may be made to the church or charity of one's choice. Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
