FANNIE L. JONES

Fannie L. Jones of the 3500 block of Gatling Ave. died Aug. 17, 1997.

She was born in Nash County, N.C., and was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Norfolk.

Survivors include her husband, Wilton Moses Jones Sr. of Alexandria, Va.; three daughters, Elizabeth Merritt Trusty and Jackie L. Jones, both of Norfolk, and Sonja E. Jones of Washington, D.C.; a son, Wilton M. Jones Jr. of Norfolk; seven sisters, Molley Peppers, Jean Barnes, Essie Brown, all of North Carolina, Willie Elaine Merritt, Phyllis Merritt and Arnita Rose Merritt, all of Washington, D.C., and Dorothy Johnson of Florida; three brothers, Avon Merritt of Norfolk, Evon Merritt of New York, Charles Merritt of Texas; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Union United Church of Christ by the Rev. Joseph Copeland. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Middlesex, N.C., on Aug. 22.
