LAVORIS L. PEARSON

Lavoris L. Pearson, 36, of the 2500 block of Hickory St. died Aug. 14, 1997, on I-85 North, Durham, N.C.

A native of Portsmouth, Mrs. Pearson was a quality assurance supervisor for Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Naval Regional Medical Center with 18 years of government service. Mrs. Pearson was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church, Shoulders Hill, Suffolk, its C.V. Russell Bible Class, Sunday School and was also an usher. She was a choir member at her former church. She was a secretary of Mount Hermon P.T.A. Association and an organizer for the Mount Hermon Cheerleaders at the Joseph E. Parker Center.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth L. Pearson; a sister, Shirley M. Boone of Portsmouth; five brothers, Joe Louis Williams, Danford L. (Raynell) Williams, Alastair W. (Charlene) Williams, all of Portsmouth, Raymond E. (Rosa) Williams of Suffolk, Melvin D. (Carolyn) Williams of Chesapeake; mother-in-law, Annie M. Pearson; a sister-in-law, Joyce E. Pearson; two brothers-in-law, David H. Pearson, Randall A. Pearson, all of Portsmouth; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma M. Williams and Willie W. Williams.

A funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Union Missionary Baptist Church, Shoulders Hill, by Dr. C.V. Russell Sr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Wednesday. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
