ARTHUR L. DAIGLE

Retired U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Arthur L. Daigle, 80, died Aug. 17, 1997, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

A native of Long Island, N.Y., Lt. Cmdr. Daigle had retired from CINCLANTFLT after a 30-year career in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Church of The Holy Family, Virginia Beach. Lt. Cmdr. Daigle was an active volunteer for the Red Cross, AARP, Virginia Beach Police Department, Retired Officers Associations and Virginia Beach Department of Mental Health.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Josephine Daigle; three daughters, Karen M. Lea of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Maureen D. Watson of Gainesville, Fla., Carol K. Garrenton of Chesapeake; three sons, Brian L. Daigle of Denver, Colo., William R. Kanzenbach of Virginia Beach, Mark A. Daigle of Norfolk; a sister, Ellen Pollin of West Caldwell, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Scott, Craig and Andrea Daigle, John and Jennifer Lea, Courtney and Caitlin Garrenton and Ashley Kanzenbach.

A Mass of The Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of The Holy Family by the Rev. Thomas B. Nee. Entombment will follow at Princess Anne Mausoleum. The family will be receiving friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
