CARL T. ALEXANDER

Carl T. Alexander, 67, went home to be with the Lord Aug. 18, 1997.

Mr. Alexander was born in Davies County, Ind. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In 1991, he retired from Bell Atlantic, formerly C&P Telephone Co., after 38 years of service. He was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church, where over the years he had served in many capacities, including greeter, deacon, usher and church council.

Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vera Alexander; and by his daughter, Tania Tracy, and son-in-law, Tom Tracy, all of Virginia Beach; mother, Beulah Alexander of Washington, Ind.; brother, Lewis Alexander of San Jacinto, Calif.; four sisters, Patty McDonald of Washington, Norman Stanbury of Grand Blanc, Mich., Judy Lynch of Danville, Ind., and Karen Opal of Carmel, Ind.; uncle, Herman Truelove of Greenwood, Ind.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Floyd and Norma Stoll of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews; and by many, many friends.

The family will receive visitors in Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in Kempsville Baptist Church, 5204 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, Friday at 11 a.m. by Dr. Kelly J. Burris. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kempsville Baptist Church or to the Bible Broadcasting Network, Charlotte, N.C. 28241-7300. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
