WALDO R. HAINSWORTH

Waldo Reed Hainsworth died Aug. 19, 1997, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Hainsworth was born in Somerville, Mass., in July 7, 1907. He was also the oldest member of the Doric Masonic Lodge in Manchester, N.H. He was a 1932 graduate of Randolph-Macon College. Mr. Hainsworth was director of Parks and Recreation for the city of Norfolk from 1943-46. He was a field representative for the National Recreation Association, having the New England district.

Survivors include a son, Dr. F. Reed Hainsworth and his wife, Diane, of Syracuse; daughter, Elaine H. Hayes and her husband, Robert M., of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Lee Forinash, James Reed Hayes and Thomas Matthew Hayes, all of Virginia Beach, and Charlotte Hainsworth and Emily Hainsworth, both of Syracuse, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Forinash, Jessica Forniash, Tori Lynn Hayes and Michael James Hayes, all of Virginia Beach.

Mr. Hainsworth's remains were donated to science. Any memorials may be made to the City of Norfolk Department of Recreation. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
