Columbus E. ``Lum'' Sivills, 69, of the 1400 block of Highland Ave., died Aug. 18, 1997, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
A native of Norfolk County, he was a laborer retired from Weaver Fertilizer with 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Evans Sivills of Portsmouth; two daughters, Joyce G. Smith and Patience S. Eure, both of Portsmouth; two sons, Curtis E. (Victoria) Sivills and Wesley L. Sivills, both of Portsmouth; sister, Jessie Mae McMullen of Chesapeake; brother, Paul A. Sivills of Chesapeake; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Fourth Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by Minister Isaac Coaxum and the Rev. Charles W. Beamon. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon Thursday. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Friday.
