A 25-year-old Maryland man has been arrested in connection with a string of break-ins of cars in the Avon area, the Dare County sheriff said.
The break-ins started Thursday and mainly involved the thefts of cellular phones.
Arrested Tuesday was Kenneth A. David Jr. of Glen Burnie, said Dare County Sheriff A.L. Austin. Nearly all of the stolen property was recovered except for some cash.
David has been charged with two counts of feloniously breaking and entering into autos and two counts of the felonious larceny of financial transaction cards. He is being held on $20,000 bond.
The sheriff said that evidence will be taken to the Dare County grand jury on other charges. He said that he expected charges against a local juvenile as well. KEYWORDS: ROBBERIES
