Janet Y. ``Sue'' Lewis of the 1600 block of Richmond Ave. died Aug. 22, 1997, in Maryview Hospital.

She was a native of Portsmouth and a member of Zion Bethel United Church of Christ, Portsmouth.

Survivors include her husband, Allen L. Lewis; a daughter, Freda Y. Gibbs Hutcherson of the U.S. Army; two sons, Larry A. Gibbs of Dale City, Va., and Markus Allen Lewis of Portsmouth; two sisters, Bernice Brown and Lorraine Johnson, both of Portsmouth; two brothers, James Todd of Maryland and Elzie Todd of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; an aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Zion Bethel United Church of Christ, Portsmouth, by the Rev. D.A. Peace. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.
