WILDA W. THATCHER

Mrs. Thatcher was a Master Gardener, a member of Colonial Place Women's Club and Central United Methodist Church. She was above all else a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally, celebrated their successes with jubilance, supported them with all her strength in times of need and always put her family first and foremost. They all loved her and will miss her sorely.

She is survived by her husband of more than 53 years, retired Lt. Col. David C. Thatcher; her children, David C. Thatcher Jr. of Alexandria, Va., Nancy T. Moore and her husband, Richard, of Hampton, Christine T. Beck and her husband, Dennis, of Fresno, Calif., and Arthur G. Thatcher and his wife, Lisa, of Hampton; seven grandsons and a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and her brother, John W. Wildman of Newport News.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home, Hampton. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Central United Methodist Church, 225 Chapel St., Hampton. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be may be made to the American Heart Association or Central United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
