Melvin Louis Messer, 71, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 1997, in his residence.
He was a native of Harnett County, N.C., and the widower of Ella Blick Messer. Mr. Messer had retired from Royal Silver Co. as a machine operator after more than 30 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah A. Evans of Shiloh, N.C.; two sisters, Josephine M. Norris of Dunn, N.C., and Eula M. Faith of Wilmington, N.C.; and a grandson, William David Franklin of Powell's Point, N.C.
A private service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
