FRANK E. MCCARTY

Frank Ernest McCarty, 82, died Aug. 21, 1997.

Born in Dickens County, Texas, he was a former minister of Tidewater Primitive Baptist Church with 23 years of service and a member of Chilhowi Primitive Baptist Church, Chilhowi, Va., where he was also a co-pastor. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local (NU)803.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy Lillian McCarty; two daughters, Sharon Everhart of Virginia Beach, Joan Wood of Sparks, Nev.; a son, Al McCarty of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Irene Turner of Visalia, Calif., Della Hughes of Plainview, Texas; a brother, L.J. McCarty of Delta, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Melvin McCarty and Douglas McCarty.

A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Elder Howard Davis Jr. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Hampton Roads Chapter, 20 Koger Executive Center, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
