TONIGHT'S TV PREMIERE

``Good News''

Network, time: UPN, 9 p.m. Mondays

Cast: David Ramsey, Rose Jackson Moye, Roz Ryan, Guy Torry,

Alexia Robinson and Tracey Cherelle.

Concept: Young, good-looking pastor (Ramsey) arrives to take over

Church of Life but finds the elders in rebellion. On the plus side,

women melt in his presence.

Mini-review: Maybe the best pilot episode of the new sitcoms - so

good that I watched it three times. The pilot has several winning

moments including Pastor Randolph's try at converting the church

choir to hip and funky music, straight talk with the mother of a gay

parishoner and Moye as church secretary Vera Hudson flirting madly.
