LAWYERS NAMED TO ASSOCIATIONS: Winship C. Tower, a partner with Kaufman & Canoles, was elected vice chairman of the family law section of the board of governors of the Virginia State Bar. Ashley L. Taylor Jr., an associate with the law firm, was named as the 1997-98 Eighth District (Virginia and Maryland) representative to the council of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. And, Charles E. Land, a partner, was elected chairman of the real property section of the board of governors of the Virginia State Bar. He formerly served terms as secretary and vice-chairman of the section.
GILBERT BECOMES MEMBER OF FORUM: Attorney O.L. Gilbert was named a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Membership is limited to trial lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skill, experience and excellence in advocacy by achieving a verdict or settlement in the amount of $1 million or more.
VIRGINIA BEACH
ANDERSON PROMOTED: Greg Anderson was promoted to vice president by URS Greiner Inc. In his new position, he will head a newly appointed group, based in Virginia Beach, which will perform public utility infrastructure work both nationally and internationally. He was a project manager for utility improvement and rehabilitation projects in Virginia Beach.
KELLER JOINS PRACTICE: Dr. Vicki Keller has joined the dental practice of Dr. David L. Kaiser. Keller is a 1997 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and is also a part-time faculty member.
STELLING TO JOIN LYNNHAVEN CHIROPRACTIC: Dr. Peter W. Stelling, a chiropractor and graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, will join Lynnhaven Chiropractic Clinic Sept. 1.
GLASSER ELECTED CHAIRPERSON: Lynne H. Glasser of Lynne Glasser Creative Promotions was elected chairperson for 1998 of the National Sales Advisory Council of Newton Manufacturing Co. Newton is an 88-year-old company with more than 1000 sales representatives nationwide. She has been associated with Newton for 19 years.

JOHNSON PROMOTED: William D. Johnson Jr. was appointed director and vice president at McKinney & Co. He joined the firm in April 1996 and manages the Williamsburg office.
