GLADYS M. KIGLER

Gladys Mae Kigler, 62, of the 5300 block of Group Lane, died Aug. 23, 1997, in Obici Hospital, Suffolk.

The daughter of the late Peter and Mary Eliza Eley, she was a native of Isle of Wight County. Mrs. Kigler was retired from Gwaltney Meat Packing Co., Smithfield. She was a member of St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a church mother, Sunday school teacher, president of the Pastor's Aid, custodian of the church, assistant secretary, a member of the Hospitality Committee to the Sunday School Union, and president of the Missionary Department.

Survivors include her husband, James M. Kigler; two daughters, Jacqueline Kigler of Windsor, and Shelia Purdie of Suffolk; three sons, Timothy Kigler and Jasion Kigler of Suffolk, and Otto Kigler of Anniston, Ala.; five sisters, Helen Saunder of Surry, Lettie Parham of Jamaica, N.Y., Nora Williams of Richmond, Annie Whitehurst of Dover, Del., and Sadie Eley of Suffolk; one brother, Royal Eley of Windsor; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church by Bishop Early Gay Jr. The body will be in the church at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Booker's Cemetery. There will be a wake at the church beginning 7 p.m. Wednesday. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
