KATHY FLICK SEARS

Kathy Lynne Flick Sears, 36, died Aug. 10, 1997, in a Hartford, Conn., hospital.

Born in Danville, Va., she graduated from Kempsville High School in 1979 and continued her education, graduating from Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, Fla.

Survivors include two children, Cassy and Carl Sears of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; her fiance, Ed Woods, of Willimantic, Conn.; and his parents, William and Mary Lou Woods of Shelton, Conn.; her father, retired Navy chaplain Carl W. Flick and his wife, Anne G. Flick, of Orange Park, Fla.; and two sisters and their families, Phyllis Flick Zarko of Lakehurst, N.J., and Karen Flick Sweet Miller of Virginia Beach.

The funeral was held in Martinsville, Va., on Aug. 13, 1997, where Kathy was buried next to her mother, Annette Mehaffey Flick, and with other family in the Roselawn Cemetery. A memorial service is planned this month in Willimantic, Conn. Memorial donations may be made to the local United Cerebral Palsy Foundation or to the United Way of South Hampton Roads.
