RUTH E. DAVIS

Ruth E. Davis, 78, of the 100 block of Kidd Blvd., died Aug. 24, 1997.

Mrs. Davis was born in Micro, N.C., and was the widow of Paul R. Davis Sr. She was retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. as a salesperson and was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Portsmouth. She was predeceased by her parents, Eva Adams Pittman and Clarence M. Pittman.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Browder and husband, Lin of Norfolk, Eva Dozier and husband, Gordon of Greensboro, N.C.; a son, Paul R. Davis Jr. and wife, Pat of Norfolk; a sister, Louise Peele and husband, David of Richmond; a brother, Clarence M. Pittman Jr. of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members.

A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, by Pastor Nelson Fields. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
