THOMAS E. STEVENSON

Thomas Edward Stevenson, 66, of the 1900 block of Peartree Road, died in Albemarle Hospital Saturday evening, Aug. 23, 1997.

He was a native of Pasquotank County and was the son of the late Elwood Thomas and Elizabeth Temple Stevenson. Mr. Stevenson was a retired farmer and a sand business operator, having formerly been a co-owner of the T.E. Stevenson & Son Sand & Farm. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Weeksville Hunting Club and the Dry Ridge Hunting Club.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Carter Stevenson; two daughters, Linda S. Turner and husband, Alan Turner of Elizabeth City and Betsy S. White and husband, Gary White of Elizabeth City; a son, Thomas Edward Stevenson Jr. and wife, Jayne H. Stevenson of Elizabeth City. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Keith Sawyer, Kevin Sawyer, Eddie Stevenson III, Justin Stevenson, Hunter Stevenson, Rachel White and Rebecca White, Kristin Turner and Brad Turner, all of Elizabeth City.

A funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Twiford's Memorial Chapel by Dr. Roy Head and the Rev. Martin Chappell. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at their residence. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
