Americans in Saudi Arabia are still under threat of attack, according to a U.S. Embassy advisory.
Surveillance of U.S. facilities suggests that ``planning for terrorist action against U.S. interests in Saudi Arabia continues unabated,'' the advisory said.
The embassy's press officer downplayed the advisory Saturday, saying it was routine.
The embassy's statement did seem to support remarks last month by Gen. Anthony Zinni, head of U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Fla., who said that militants were preparing another attack on U.S. troops.
In June 1996, a truck bomb exploded outside a U.S. barracks near Dhahran, killing 19 American airmen. In 1995, a car bomb blew up outside a military building in Riyadh, killing five U.S. soldiers.
