``Head Over Heels''
Network, time: UPN, Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m.
Cast: From left, Patrick Bristow, Eva LaRue, Mitchell Whitfield, Cindy Ambuehl and Peter Dobson.
Concept: Two brothers, including one who is lecher, run a Flordia dating service. With beautiful bods all over the place, plus sexual overtones, it's an invitation to one-liners about homosexuality and promscuity. The tasteless pilot was re-shot, but version No. 2 is still offensive.
One 1/2 star (Out of five).
``Hitz''
Network, time: UPN, Tuesdays, 9 p.m.
Cast: Andrew ``Dice'' Clay, Kristin Dattilo (both at left), Claude Brooks, Rick Gomez, Rosa Blasi, Spencer Garrett and Reno Wilson.
Concept: Sitcom set in a Los Angeles recording company, HiTower Records, where Clay is the bullish boss, spouting such uplifting dialogue as, ``Shut your pie hole, snapper head.'' The producers wisely use Clay in small doses. Brooks and Gomez play record executives forever looking to sign the breakthrough act. In the pilot, they pursue Coolio.
Mini-review: This might work as a buddy sitcom if it weren't for Clay popping up to insult the men and demean the women, who have the standard sitcom wardrobe: 16-inch skirts, plunging necklines.
One 1/2 stars (Out of five). ILLUSTRATION: Color photos
