GLADSTONE L. JAMES JR.

Gladstone Leeds James Jr., 48, of the 300 block of Back Bay Crescent, died Aug. 21, 1997 in Newburgh, N.Y.

A native of Manchester, Jamaica, he was a self-employed truck driver. Previously, Mr. James was a senior correctional officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Petersburg. He also served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladstone James Sr. and Katherine James.

Survivors include his loving wife, Karolette James; two sons, Anthony Williams and William James of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Kara James of Florida; four brothers, Albert James of England, Selvin James of New Jersey, Seymour James of New Jersey and Stewart James of Jamaica; three sisters, Elaine Patmore of Jamaica, Sonia Johnson of Canada and Fay Young of Maryland; and one grandchild, Kayla James of Florida.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. A chapel service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home following the visitation.
