JAMES N. STEWART

James N. Stewart, 83, of the 300 block of Briarfield Drive went to be with his Lord whom he loved Aug. 25, 1997, at his residence.

Born in Northwest, Va., he had retired from the Ford Motor Co. after 46 years. He was a member of the Great Bridge Baptist Church and an honorary member of Tidewater Country Music Association.

Family members waiting to join him include his wife, Margaret Ruth Stewart; two sons, J.C. Stewart and Cecil Stewart, both of Chesapeake; a sister, Sarah Weeks of Chesapeake; four brothers, Harry E. Stewart, Albert C. Stewart, Lewis C. Stewart and Ralph Stewart, all of Chesapeake; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Great Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles L. Moseley. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chesapeake Fire & Rescue.
