Elizabeth Land Cherry, 89, of the 1500 block of Little Horseshoe Drive died Aug. 23, 1997, in her residence.
She was the retired owner and operator of Cherry Cottages & Motel. Mrs. Cherry was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosalee C. Jewell, and her husband, Harvey; a son, L. Wilson Cherry Jr., and his wife, Mary, of Mathews, Va.; a sister, Virginia Burmock; grandchildren Randy Gillan, Michelle and Shawn McArdle, all of Virginia Beach, Kimberly Croxton of Mathews, and Woody Cherry of Florida; great-grandchildren, Tyler McArdle and Tiffany Croxton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Paul Bailey and Rev. David Ford, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. in Virginia Beach United Methodist Church.
