ELIZABETH L. CHERRY

Elizabeth Land Cherry, 89, of the 1500 block of Little Horseshoe Drive died Aug. 23, 1997, in her residence.

She was the retired owner and operator of Cherry Cottages & Motel. Mrs. Cherry was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosalee C. Jewell, and her husband, Harvey; a son, L. Wilson Cherry Jr., and his wife, Mary, of Mathews, Va.; a sister, Virginia Burmock; grandchildren Randy Gillan, Michelle and Shawn McArdle, all of Virginia Beach, Kimberly Croxton of Mathews, and Woody Cherry of Florida; great-grandchildren, Tyler McArdle and Tiffany Croxton; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Paul Bailey and Rev. David Ford, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. in Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
