RALPH J. REID

Ralph J. Reid, 73, of the 400 block of Roosevelt Blvd., died Aug. 24, 1997 in Maryview Hospital.

He had retired as a roofer after 30 years with the Norfolk Naval Base and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was the widower of Addie M. Reid.

Survivors include his daughter, Lillian R. Brown of Portsmouth; three sons, Ralph M. Reid and Bruce C. Reid, both of Portsmouth, and James T. Reid of Statesville, N.C.; three grandchildren; three adopted grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth, by the Rev. T.M. Steele. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, with military honors. A viewing will begin at noon Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of his daughter, 5105 Greenbrook Drive, Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral procession to the chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
