This is how it was supposed to be in April. Jason Isringhausen makes one start for the Norfolk Tides while on his rehabilitation assignment, then packs his bags and rejoins the New York Mets.
He got it right the second time around.
The powerful righthander was recalled by the Mets Monday and will replace struggling Pete Harnisch in the Mets' starting rotation.
Isringhausen's first rehab assignment in April following arm surgery ended when he punched a trash can out of frustration and fractured a bone in his pitching hand. He then contracted tuberculosis, slowing his return to the majors.
