Willie Davis Beard, 76, formerly a resident of Southampton County, died Aug. 26, 1997.
She was a retired payroll clerk for NuCar Carriers Inc., a member of Old Donation Episcopal Church and a past matron of Kempsville Chapter (NU)173, Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Beard was born in Shelby, N.C., and was the widow of Franklin L. Beard Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda B. Armstrong and David H. of Norfolk; a son, Franklin L. Beard Jr. and Carol A. of Virginia Beach; a sister, Dorothy D. Hinkle and William E. Hinkle of Virginia Beach; and grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Beard, David H. Armstrong and Matthew F. Armstrong.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Old Donation Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, by interim Rector C. Thomas Holliday. Burial with an Eastern Star service will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
