RAFAEL BAEZ JR.

Rafael Baez Jr. passed away Aug. 26, 1997, at his home.

Mr. Baez was born Feb. 2, 1950, in Puerto Rico, the son of Dolores Perez Baez and the late Rafael Baez. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in New York. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and later served in the U.S. Navy for nine years. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and also enjoyed sports and outdoor activities.

In addition to his loving mother, he is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Dawn Baez of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Delia Baez and Aida Amat; three brothers, Luis, Raul and Robert Baez; former wife, Karen Baez; former mother-in-law, Margaret Estrada; four nieces, Isabel, Michelle, Melissa and Monique; and two nephews, Jose Ricardo and Robert Jr.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Fr. William J. Dale. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
