NORFOLK

MOODY AND PANGALOS JOIN LAW FIRM: Michelle M. Moody and Michael T. Pangalos were named associates at Stackhouse, Smith & Nexsen. Moody is a general civil litigator whose practice emphasizes insurance law and worker's compensation litigation. She received her g2ls01 Pangalos law degree from Wake Forest University. Pangalos is a general civil litigator with 3 1/2 years experience. He concentrates in personal injury and bankruptcy. He received his law degree from the University of Georgia.

BRITT HONORED: The American College of Surgeons elected Dr. L.D. Britt, Brickhouse professor and chairman of surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School, to its National Committee on Trauma. The ACS has also appointed Britt chief of region III, an area that encompasses the mid-Atlantic states and the Virgin Islands. He was rector of Norfolk State University's Board of Visitors for two years. And, at Eastern Virginia Medical School, he received the Sir William Osler Award for the 8th consecutive year. The award recognizes excellence in teaching. He also has been elected chief of surgery at Sentara Hospitals, Norfolk.

VIRGINIA BEACH

APPOINTMENTS AT MORTGAGE COMPANY: Gerry Forbes was named vice president/branch manager with Atlantic Regional Mortgage Corp. She has over 23 years of mortgage lending and real estate experience. Marge Williams, Will Pope, Kimberly White and Michelle Sanders were named loan officers. Williams has over 22 years of lending experience. Pope has been a loan officer for four years. White has been a loan officer for 19 years and Sanders has had 17 years of mortgage lending experience.

PENINSULA

JAMESTOWN-YORKTOWN FOUNDATION STAFF APPOINTMENTS: The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, the state agency that administers Jamestown Settlement and the Yorktown Victory Center, has made seven staff appointments. Douglas M. Fisher is the new exhibit services manager and will be responsible for design and fabrication of gallery exhibitions and outdoor exhibit settings at Jamestown and Yorktown. Grace F. Van Divender, the training and special services manager, will develop and coordinate training programs for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation staff. Mary Anne Caton was named curator of the foundation's 18th-century collection, based at Yorktown. Heather M. Saunders was named the new outreach program manager. She has been with the foundation for three years. And, Candace A. Millward, Shawn P. Halifax and David G. Rieger were named history education coordinators.
