Julia Elizabeth Schimmel died in her home in Virginia Beach with her family present on Aug. 30, 1997.
She was the daughter of Sallie Massie and Corbett Trent of Lynchburg, Va., born on June 11, 1924.
Julia was the beloved wife of George W. Schimmel, the devoted mother of Michael George of Virginia Beach, Jill Lynn Moore of Phoenix, and Lisa Ann Edwards of Aiken, S.C. She was also the grandmother of Travis Weston Edwards of Aiken.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Scott Memorial United Methodist Church, 409 First Colonial Road, Virginia Beach, Pastor James C. Ullian officiating. The family requests that memorial donations in her memory be made to theAmerican Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513 or to Scott Memorial U.M.C.
