MILTON S. NELSON

Milton S. Nelson, of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., died Aug. 27, 1997, in a local healthcare facility.

Born in Norfolk, he was self-employed as proprietor of Nelson's Barber Shop for 48 years. He was the widower of Minnie R. Nelson and a member of First Baptist Church, Logan Park, Norfolk, the Deacon Board, Trustee Board, Male Chorus and Senior Choir, The Four Score Club and the Sunday School.

Survivors include four daughters, Gloria Gallop and Eleanor Eason, both of Norfolk, Stephanie Perry of Virginia Beach and Trudy Stiff of Norfolk; two sons, Luther Nelson of Norfolk and Emueal Brickhouse of New York; two sisters, Eunice Ampey and Vivian Bullock of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Alexander Perry of Virginia Beach and Herbert Stiff of Norfolk; and a daughter-in-law, Maria Brickhouse of New York. Mr. Nelson also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Nelson and Sydney Nelson; and two sons, Milton Nelson and Reginald Nelson.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday by the Rev. Kevin Clay in First Baptist Church, Logan Park, Norfolk. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. the day of service. The family will receive friends at 423 W. Little Creek Road, Norfolk. Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
