James E. Bagley, 69, of the 1400 block of Maharis Road, died Aug. 29, 1997, in a local hospital.
Born in Rome, Ga., he was a retired lieutenant from the U.S. Navy with 22 years of service and a retired real estate agent. He was a member of the VFW, Elks and American Legion. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Myline M. Bagley; a son, Mark E. Bagley of Rome; brother, Alfred Tarvin Bagley, and his special friend, Ruth Anderson of Rome; two grandchildren, Ashley Christina Bagley and M. Jimmy Bagley of Huntersville, N.C.; mother of the grandchildren, Karen Lynn Herrell of Huntersville; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins of Rome, Ga. He was predeceased by a son, Myles J. Bagley.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by Minister Robert Powell in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
