MONTE N. TAYLOR

Mrs. Monte Newsome Taylor, 93, of Route 1, died Sept. 1, 1997, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Hertford County and was a member of Christian Harbor Baptist Church, Harrellsville, where she had been a Sunday school teacher for many years. For over 50 years, she was an Extension Homemaker Club member. She was the widow of Thomas A. Taylor.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Coleman Taylor and his wife, Jane, of Harrellsville; a sister, Aileen Hollowell of Edenton, N.C.; and a granddaughter, Beth Taylor Smith.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Christian Harbor Baptist Church by the Rev. Hugh Mizelle. Burial will be in Harrellsville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Harrellsville Rescue Squad or to Christian Harbor Baptist Church. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
