SEATON P. FAIRLESS SR.

Seaton Poe Fairless Sr., 83, known as Poe, of the 100 block of Buncombe Road, died Sept. 1, 1997, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital.

Born in Hertford County, he was a retired farmer and a member of Colerain Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Josie Harrell Fairless of Colerain; two daughters, Brenda Edwards and husband, Oscar, of Greenville and Annette Wood and husband, Gilliam, of Edenton; a son, Seaton Poe Fairless Jr. of Colerain; a sister, Elizabeth Gillam of Harrellsville; and grandchildren, Amy Edwards Powell and husband, George, Kimberly Fairless, Cindy Edwards and Mary Jo Fairless.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Colerain Baptist Church by the Rev. Shelby Stephens. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Colerain Rescue Squad or to Colerain Baptist Church. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
