Mr. D.A. ``Woody'' Blanchard, 52, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 1997.

Mr. Blanchard grew up in Gatesville, N.C., and graduated from Gatesville High School, Class of 1962. He was associated with the finance industry for most of his working years. He lived in Suffolk, Smithfield and Newport News where he was an associate and later, manager, of Community Finance Co. For the past five years he made his home in Greenville and traveled with B.E.&K. Construction Co.

Survivors include a daughter, Beth Blanchard of Rocky Mount; a grandchild, Brittni Blanchard of Rocky Mount; two brothers, James A. Blanchard and wife, Debra, of Greenville and William T. Blanchard of Aurora, Ill.; a niece, Shanna Blanchard of Greenville; and three nephews, Jason Blanchard of Greenville, and Justin and Jordan Blanchard, both of Aurora, Ill.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
