Mrs. Ada P. Artis Owens, of the 600 block of Cameron St., died Aug. 30, 1997 in Emporia.
A native of Southampton County, she was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Louise Denson, Lauretta Barr, and Gracie Owens of Franklin and Lona Sparrow of Norfolk; three sons, Wesley Owens, Robert Edward Lee Owens, and George M. Artis of Franklin; a sister, Gladys Wynn of Portsmouth; a special daughter-in-law, Irene Whitfield of Franklin; 22 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Mars Hill Baptist Church, Capron, by the Rev. Alphonso L. Felton. Burial will be in Mars Hill Cemetery. The family will assemble in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Barr, 312 Barrett St., Franklin, at 11:15 a.m. William M. Johnson & Sons Inc. Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
