ALBERT J. CASEY

Albert John Casey, 63, died Sept. 1, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

A native of Brunswick, Maine, he had retired as a rigger from Norshipco after 33 years. He was a Catholic and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was also a volunteer fire fighter EMT for the city of Chesapeake and an active community worker.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Hottot Abbott of Richmond; a daughter, Sharon Cannon of Chesapeake; a son, John D. Casey of Norfolk; his loving companion, Louise Babb of Portsmouth; two sisters, Adrienne Hubbard of Portland, Maine, and Nancy Logan of Richmond; two brothers, Lionel Casey of Bridgeport, Conn., and Richard Casey of Redding, Conn.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
