Laura L. Fields of the 1100 block of County St. died Sept. 1, 1997, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
She was born in Portsmouth and was a retired clerk for Field's Grocery Store after 25 years of service. She was a past member of Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include four sisters, Theresa F. Ransom, Nancy Keene, Ethel E. Washington, all of Portsmouth, Hattie G. Fields of New York City; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Fields Sr., and a brother, William Henry Fields Jr.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The family will be at the home of her sister, Theresa F. Ransom, 1601 Duke St., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the procession to the chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
