A woman struck by a car on Atlantic Avenue on Wednesday afternoon was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The crash happened near the intersection of 11th Street and Atlantic Avenue about 4 p.m. A car traveling north on Atlantic Avenue hit the woman, who had stepped off the curb and into the street, police said.
She was identified as Susan Rose Simpson, 44, of the 200 block of 11th St. She remained in critical but stable condition late Wednesday.
The car's driver, identified by police as Valery Michalski of the 1000 block of Ocean Pebbles Way, wasn't hurt.
