JOSEPH E. CARTER

Joseph E. Carter, 73, of the 5800 block of Lathan Road, died Sept. 3, 1997, in his residence.

He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station with 37 years of service. A native of Rocky Mount, N.C., he was a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife, Joyce Hope Carter; three sons, Jimmy O. Carter and his wife, Cindy of Chesapeake, Rickie R. Carter and his wife, Debbie of Norfolk, Johnnie M. Carter and his wife, Delores of Chesapeake; a brother, Charlie Carter of Woodbridge, Va.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Horace Ange and Deacon Dan Till. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
